DTF vs DTG: Which Printing Method Suits Your Business?

DTF and DTG can both produce high-quality garment printing, but they suit different businesses, products and production workflows.

Direct-to-Garment prints directly onto the garment, while Direct-to-Film creates a transfer that is later applied with a heat press. The difference affects garment choice, labour, finishing, maintenance, print feel, production speed and how easily you can scale.

The right question is not simply “Which technology is better?”

It is:

Which printing method better suits the work you actually want to produce?

This Machines Plus Academy guide explains the practical differences between DTG and DTF, including garment compatibility, white ink, production workflow, heat pressing, maintenance and the type of business each technology can suit.
