The VersaStudio BD series is a range of ultra-compact UV flatbed printers. Designed to sit on a desk, they provide a cost-effective solution for those who want to get involved with product customisation, merchandise manufacture, labelling and small signage. They combine a low acquisition cost with simple and flexible operation. They provide an excellent solution for small businesses, retail and classroom environments. You can add value and appeal to items like phone covers, cosmetic cases, fashion accessories, sports memorabilia, gifts and more.
The VersaStudio BD Series enables bright and vibrant images to be applied to items of varying shape and finish with thicknesses up to 102mm. The BD-8 supports items up to A5 (240 x 178mm) while the larger BD-12 supports items up to A4 (335 x 240mm).
The BD Series is designed to operate with Roland EUV5 ink which ships in 220ml cartridges. The colour set includes CYMK and WHITE. The ink is extremely versatile and will adhere to a wide range of materials, from soft fabric and leather to hard wood and plastics.
An Optional Rotary Accessory is available for the BD-8 and BD-12. It enables printing onto cylindrical and curved objects up to 2-inches (50mm) in diameter. Once installed you can print onto pens, jars, bottles and more.
Printers have an additional ink slot that can be configured for a clear Gloss varnish. This special fluid can be applied in various ways to enhance presentation.
Alternatively, the additional ink slot can be be configured for a Primer. This fluid improves image adhesion and is particularly useful for those who wish to work with specialty media such as glass or metal.

Flexible on-demand imaging
Print onto a wide range of soft and hard materials. A CYMK+W ink set is matched with a choice of Varnish for added presentation or Primer for enhanced adhesion.
Print onto round objects
An optional rotary axis attachment allows 360-degree printing directly onto cylindrical objects. It features a durable motor and supports objects up to 50mm in diameter.
Proven technology
The BD-Series features the same print head, ink, and UV-LED lamp as the professional MG series. It achieves ink density than the previous LEF series for prints that pop.
Enhanced safety
EUV5 ink images beautifully while also being good to work with. It has been awarded a GREENGUARD Gold certification for its low VOC (volatile organic compound) emissions.
Colour that excites
The BD-Series supports TrueRichColor 3 for vivid colour and natural expression. The richer White can be applied as an undercoat, for images on dark material that truly Pops.
Easy maintenance
BD-Series customers can easily follow the maintenance instructions displayed in the Utility. The instructions are illustrated and easy to understand, even for novices.
